Pre School Types

SALI Childcare offer sessional, part and full time preschool places, five days per week, for 38 weeks per year. Our preschool calendar coincides with our partner primary school – The Mercy Primary School.

Sessional Preschool

This session starts at 9:30am and finishes at 12:30pm. These are the hours which eligible children can attend for free under the ECCE scheme. If children are not eligible for the ECCE scheme, they can enrol once they are over the age of two years and six months, on a fee-paying basis. Subvention may be available to assist with fees.

Part Time Preschool

To suit your family’s needs, we offer part time hours from 8:45am to 1:25pm. These hours coincide with our partner primary school The Mercy to ensure parents have one drop off and pick up time. From 8:45am, children can relax before their busy preschool day starts or they can jump straight in to activities and play. After the preschool session has ended they join up with their other friends and/or siblings from the other preschool rooms. Children can then avail of a dance or yoga session, chill time or story time. They are also free to choose their own activity. A healthy and nutritious snack is given to all children at 1pm.

Full Time

For those families with children attending our after school service, we have limited full day care spaces available. Children can mix with their siblings for happy hour and then go to our Discoverers room where they can take some down time or take part in activities or play. A hot, nutritious meal is served in our hall at 3:45pm. Children can be dropped off from 8am for breakfast club where they can choose from a range of cereal or toast. Full day care finishes when the service closes at 6pm.

Inventors

The Inventors is our older aged group catering for children aged three and a half up to five and a half. In this room learning opportunities are planned from children’s needs and interests and include ways to encourage early literacy and numeracy, communication skills and the ability to understand the world around them. Practitioners support the group to reach their goals. Children in this room build on the skills and dispositions they already have. They begin to exhibit positive attitudes towards investigation and learning. The Inventors are encouraged to express themselves creatively and imaginatively. We support them to voice their feelings in a way they are comfortable with. Over the year, children develop the necessary skills to become “school” ready. To help the smooth transition into The Mercy Primary school, Practitioners link in with the school teachers to ensure continuity of top quality care and education.
